Can you run an inverter off a battery charger assuming the charger puts out enough amperes for watts?

Question by willscraig: Can you run an inverter off a battery charger assuming the charger puts out enough amperes for watts?
Can you run an inverter off a battery charger assuming the charger puts out enough amperes to watts for the inverter, or do you need to have a battery in between. I want to change frequency of the hertz ie 120v 60hz to 230v 50hz. I know you can buy machine that do this but isn’t this essentially what it does convert to 12vdc then back again.

It is best if you have the charger connected to a battery.
The battery acts like a filter. Battery chargers have a high AC ripple content and is not generally well suited to directly power dc inputs. But if it is across a battery, the battery will take care of the AC ripple and provide a more stable input to the inverter.
