Question by christbaker: how do i go about selling land for solar or wind power?
I own five acres of land in a very sunny part of Colorado. The subdivision in which I have the land has no active HOA and there are no covenants that prevent me from putting up as many solar panels and windmills as I can handle. How would I go about selling land for solar or wind power or even getting it going and just getting a check every month?

You live in a subdivision, where the land is zoned residential?
Forget about a solar farm or a wind turbine.

coldfuse is right.
there might not be a HOA, but you’d have to go through the planning commission.
they’re elected.
and you likely didn’t contribute majorly to their campaigns last year.

The best way is to ask the experts in solar and wind if your particular site has good solar or wind potential.
If you have good sun or wind, then the green energy experts can make suggestions and can help you look into the tax credits and rebates that are available.

Don’t sell, lease! That way you’ll get the check every month and keep the land for when it will be worth more.
