Hi I have a generator producing high amps. The max amp is 60a tolerance
for a charge controller in Singapore. Are there charge controllers in the
US with higher ampere tolerance like 100 amps and higher?

I was thinking of hooking something like this up in my garage and plugging
in a couple of power strips and running power cords to plug in my fish tank
lights. They are all led and don’t use a ton of power, and are on only 12
hours a day. But I have 10 fish tanks so I thought this would help with my
    power bill. Thoughts??

Subbed. Whereabouts in Tn are ya? I’m in Carroll County. My wife, son, and
myself vacation in the Smokies every year. Have for a quarter century. What
I’d give to live in the Appalachian chain….

from it.because i like to use my water pump from this power.my pump is 400
    watt.

I spent about 600 bucks on my system and haven’t paid for power for almost
8 months so already paid for itself. And im talking lights ,H.D. tv, two
phones and a laptop all day and night But….. i have a home built for 12v
and propane appliances not a home built for the grid. And i can honestly
say that my cost of living is a fraction of what it used to be.

controller then i connected these to a 1 set of battery clamps that came
with the pannels then went to connect the clams to a deep cycle 12v marine
battery i connect the red positive 1st then went to connect the negitive

Hi there. I live in the middle of farm land, and no gas supply to my home
(105 year old cottage), with all electric heating etc, my electric bills
are rather expensive each month. So i was thinking about building this sort
of setup and running it in my front porch. with multiple batteries in
Parallel for extended run times per charge (5 or 6 batteries).. with a
5000w inverter, which is plenty enough to power all my electronic items
during the evenings when its mostly used…
What sort of Whattage solar panel would i require to charge the batteries?
Also, what does the whattage actually do in this case? does a higher
whattage panel charge the batteries quicker?
And could i like multiple solar panels together to achieve higher whattage?
    IE: 5x 100w panels to make 500w..
    Thankyou

I was thinking about buying that battery ( I think that is a heavy
equipment battery). How does it hold up to cold?

Mark, does the wattage of the panels have to match the wattage of the
charge controller? im thinking of setting up a basic unit say 150watt of
panels to run the fridge, freezer and other small load devices in the
    laundary. great videos very informative

What guage wire do you recommend for a four battery system? I see 4 gauge

    Hi, Mark..
Need a bit of Help please..
I intend to build some solar Panels of around 1000 watts on my house. I
start buying slowly solar cells and other parts to stack up with my
    expenses..
    I have some questions:
How many AMPS my Charge Controller must be? Is 30 Amps too small for 1000
watts solar panel? Your CC the white one, how big it is ?
How many Watts the Inverter must be for a 1000 watts solar panel? 1200
    Watts is too small?
    and last question..
How many batteries I need ( 12V ) for this system? 4 are enough?

    Thank you indeed..

    Chuck

Hi I got a same controler to run a 10watt led light, but it’s only run for
few hours at night. The battery is new and fully charged everyday by a
15watt solar panel. Any ideas why it doesn’t turn on all night?

  27. Dan Murphy says:

going on 2 years, is everything still holding up?

  28. Jonathan Tatler says:

ALWAYS connect the Panel LAST ! ! Remember they produce power in sunlight
    and do not switch off.

  30. Karen M Huestis says:

You sure make it look easy, which takes the fear of complication out of the
whole deal. Thanks for the video!

  31. Charles Faulkner says:

To insure safety the last connection should be the solar panel to avoid
getting shocked. It should never be the first connection.

  32. Paladon Perry says:

    good info thank you

  33. TrueBlogge777 says:

Job well done, great little set up and all the light you want for chickens.

  34. Enoch Massingale says:

What do you do with the battery? Do you leave it out or enclose it?

  35. MOHAMMED BURHANUDDIN ABDUS SAMI says:

affan have a look at it

  36. kitkatlex72 says:

are you running that chick light on solar power , is that a 250 watt bulb?

  39. TheNamaste2012 says:

Why are you using that huge panel for that tiny job?

  40. jimginnyohio says:

    Very nice!

  41. markp0177 says:

You will need around a 60 watt panel to keep the batteries charged.

  42. markp0177 says:

Yes a white light can upset there natural cycle. Some people have the light
come on for a few hours in the winter only to help with egg production. I
small amount of red light works best.

  44. will2dmax says:

That seems like a lot of work and expense for a light that’s basically the
size of a flashlight..this is my issue with solar, not much bang for the
    buck.

  45. markp0177 says:

They can’t see spots on the other chickens and peck them. They need a
little light to see to move around and It gives me light to get the eggs if
I don’t get home till after dark.

this setup could do more then what he designed it for……it could easily
go days or weeks without sun if it was fully charged and only powers a
    couple of leds

  49. Mike Melchiorre says:

Hi, I’ve seen a couple of your video’s before , you do quality stuff . my
question is ;Now that it has been almost a year since you made this video ,
How well is that inexpensive charge controller holding up ? , Is the same
    controller still working ?

  50. markp0177 says:

I have other lights hook to it now on the outside of the coop.
