my question is there a way to contuine to chargr the batterys while you are
on the lake runnjng the motor/can you use the motor to charge the batterys/
if so what device do you use/how is it hooked up in the boat to the motor/
so that the motor is genarating tne power to charge the batteries?

Thats a REAL Nasty Solder connection That connection should have been filed
or sanded smooth and then used adhesive lined shrink tube..

Use “Ratchet Crimpers” for all your sta-con connectors of all sorts. Get
them with adhesive heat-shrink skirts and use No-Ox inside and forget all
this solder messing around..a liquid black mess.

Can I ask where you got that dummy plug? Can’t find one anywhere.

Please tell me your thoughts on mounting it on a side board where one of
the length sides is flush with the floor. I know it says have 6″ of air
flow on each side for max efficiency and performance but I have real
limited spots on the boat and would be helpful if I could mount it where
the two ends and one long side have great airflow but the other length side
would be on the carpet. Thanks, Walt

Great Job and thanks for Posting this.
I have always seen and read to NEVER Sodder connections in Marine world.
And always have the FUSE closest to the power to stop boat fires if a short.
And hanks for sharing the liquid electrical table.
Thanks Again!

use and ground your AC plug holders to prevent electric shock at all times
when batteries are in use.

Video is great but poor wire soldering connection. You should first make a
good mechanical connection between the wires, not just parallel them and
solder. Wires should have been bent in a J hook, then soldered, This would
make for a much more reliable wire connection on your extension
connections. Otherwise a great video.

Will this allow both batteries to charge while the boat motor is running?
Or is it necessary to always plug in the charger in to replenish each
battery? I have a boat slip that does not have power and cannot regularly
plug my boat into shore power.

Great video I have a question , I want to buy a 2.5hp kicker but most
review say the have too many problem with the carb and start ups. I watched
you other vid with the Johnson that stalled on you and you clean the carb .
What do you think about the Yamaha 2.5hp they say I have to add stabilizer
everytime and empty the gas lines and tank if not used for 2 weeks or more
since gas will collect water and it will gum up. What would be your
recommendation ? Thank you in advance 🙂

Not sure how long they were but I made sure I had enough “meat” in the wall
to screw into. I did worry that I might have to use bolts and nuts, but so
far it’s holding even after some pretty nasty offshore trips.

I have the same unit that I need to install. Do you just use screws instead
of nuts and bolts? How long are the screws you used?

Sorry so late on the answer. I do agree with running the engine often. Your
best bet is going to be to run the main engine every two to three weeks and
the kicker too. The stabilizer is good, but if they are two strokes… the
gas will evaporate leaving the oil behind.

Yes. It is a two bank system. So two batteries charge independently.

No… both batteries will charge from the motor while your switch is set to
“both”. Or you can run out on battery “1” and back in on battery “2”. This
charger will charge both batteries while you are docked and plugged in; or
in your driveway. Each battery is independently charged and maintained. If
you do not have shore power, or park the boat where there is an A/C plug…
this will not benefit you.
