Nice, how do you like the WHHW Heater, I was thinking of that but my well
sometimes crap out on me with no water, the the heater tank comes in handy
sometimes. So even with all those things running your bill still comes to
$8 plus a month?

Ken you make great videos and I have been learning a lot from you. but when
you are showing your wattage there is a decimal point in there. When you
show 1.290kw that is 1290 watts or just shy of 1 and a half kw. I know you
know this but alot of people that are new to solar have no clue and learn
from you… Again great videos and I am very envious of your solar setup…

Your welcome! Those were the sites that I learned the most and where I felt
credit due. Very informative videos and learned a lot. My plan was to do
the most with the least amount of money. Now I have the bug and plan on
upgrades as time and money permit. This year it will be more panels. Thanks
for sharing.

Good to see Steve’s Back!! It takes a real man to forgive and forget. And
some don’t have a heart for that!! Life is to short and for some even
shorter! What a waste of time fighting, helping is Jesus’s way he did it!

Thank you, I will do that since its one that I haven’t seen much of in
other videos. There has only been one other person and he told me that he
now has two. Since I don’t have something else to compare it to, like an
Outback or a Midnite, I can only comment on what I have seen. I seen 610w
from three 195w panels. But the conditions were perfect. Sunny, time of day
and cold temp. The specs seem to be comparable to the others….on paper.
Cost $300. Will try to find the other guys.

Thanks for asking. Yes rotary, I took a day when I was getting really good
solar power and watched all the gears move opposite direction and waited
about half an hour till I could see the last dial actually in a position
that was closer to a lower number than the larger. I might have to do a vid
showing a specific reading and then show it an hour or so later with it
showing the change backwards. Power company says I’m using 27% less power
than last year, so it’s doing pretty good.

Thank You for your kind words. I started 13 months ago with a little
research about a month before that. I knew nothing about the mechanics at
the time but understood the science of it all from my undergrad education.
I truly learned from watching videos like yours and many others within the
COMMUNITY. Learning and sharing here is a wonderful way to get a free
education by learning from others. That’s a lot of snow by the way! Been a
long time since we seen that much here in north west Ohio.

Be careful drawing power directly off the battries to a GTI as it will burn
out in a short while.
Fearlessthinker says:
October 10, 2014 at 1:02 pm (UTC 0)
Thanks. I forgot about your 1200w GTI there. I’ve repaired a mountain of
these GTIs that people have used incorrectly with wind turbines, or have
used them as a direct battery dump or in extended divert. Does your house
have a rotary meter? The Smart Meters in some cases (like mine!) adds up
the kWh going both ways, so we are careful to not feed in anymore than we
are actually using.

I think about $325 with shipping. Sometimes MPPSolar will do “Make Offer”
on their items. “Phocianlonian” has a channel that shows both the 40 and 60
amp version in use. We have both been very happy with this unit.
TheWickedjestr says:
October 10, 2014 at 2:53 pm (UTC 0)
Thanks for asking. Actually, the two SUN-600’s I currently dont use with
the solar but rather with the battery bank. The larger GTI below them is a
1200w 50-100V. So I have my three panels in series giving me about 96VOC.
Had to go that way with that MPPT controller. I will still try to do a
video on the controller, but quick specs, its a 1500W 150V 12/24/48V bank
controller that is passive. It needs 40V to turn on, so it uses no power at
all at night. (Cont.)
Fearlessthinker says:
October 10, 2014 at 3:49 pm (UTC 0)
A seperate review of that MPPT charge controller would be popular and
appreciated. Good luck with your system.
