It probably won’t be in constant use on top of a mountain. Wind turbines only work in very narrow range of wind speeds. Too fast and they have to be braked to prevent damage. For the commercial wind turbines they use computer models to predict the wind speeds. If you are exposed to high winds then your wind turbine won’t be producing power. It takes a steady wind to produce power, a steadier wind if you are grid tied as the speed will be determined by the frequency on the grid. A DC system can take a wider variety of wind speed inputs especially if there’s a battery bank but the range is still very limited and you lose a lot to the conversion back to AC for the grid tie.
