As long as the sun is directly above your lens your gonna get that
concentrated beam…but any other angle and your focal point goes bye bye.

this is great for places where there is snow. cold climates

Fire and water DO mix! Very cool video, thanks! 🙂
Kinda trippy at the end, there… goes well with the music..

Dan. If you have this set up still….. can you see how it works with RV
tank antifreeze or similar. Where I live it freezes at night this time of
year. So lense would have to melt each day before it would work. Alcohol
would work…… but then become a torch I would think.

WTF is that at the end?! Your nightmare ending attempt ruins the whole
scientific note of the video! Please don’t do that anymore!

What did that music mean with that black burn you show? That was
unexpected. Is there a safety use code with that for us audience to know
about it? (with God in mind)

I always thought water attenuates the IR energy, which really is what gives
it the kick…but apparently, this works pretty good. Nice job!!

Too cool, you’re a very inventive guy.How can you make it hold its shape so
that you can do the cleaver thing you did on doomsday preppers where you
designed a sun tracker.Hook even that up from 11an-1pm focused on a
sterling motor turning an electric generator ,and you could easily charge a
bank of batteries to run your house on 24/7 or at least run the meter back
and lower your electric bill. Damn cleaver/cool dude !

A quick question.. Why cant we have a big permanent parabolic light
concentrator, focus the light been to a water tank that generates powerful
steam that can be used for many purposes.. like steam driving a generator..
pure water by distilling this steam.. a system like this in coastal area
can be used for converting sea water to drinkable water.. many other…

Someone else has invented this after you Dan, this guy will go far using
your ideas.

Can’t help but amuse myself with the idea of having this set up at the
wrong height and causing a fire.

Lemme ask you this. If a solar panel had a “lens” (I guess), that was like
a super thin water tank could that improve Energy absorption? And, with you
lens that got 3k degrees, what if that was on a solar panel, backwards?
Would it disperse light?

Aqua Lens aren’t getting its due recognition as a cheap, reliable form of
green energy. These oversize improvised magnifying glasses pack more punch
than the land defacing, bird killing windmills and government cronies,
dependent, taxpayer subsidized solar panels championed by Leftists.
A single Aqua Lens is powerful enough to melt metal. And as this clip
demonstrate, desalinize and purify water. Think of the numerous application
that could ease our reliance on fossil fuel and compliment other fuels like
natural gas.

What a great concept. Yes, some practical issues in tracking, but making a
parabola with weight of water on plastic sheet is good knowledge..
The sun gives off 1367 w/sq meter. At surface earth, we get about 1000 w/
sq meter. If you get 1/3 kW thet is 33% efficiency that would be darn good.

That’s how bush fire started, in western Australia where climate is warm
and in summer the temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius, just a drop of
water in a hay plus hot sun gives off magnification which started the fire
and quickly spreads due to very dry hays and shrubs.
