Did Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Research Center sign the agreement
where solar power plant starts to produce energy when the oil runs out ?

Why when oil runs out ? why not as of now ? it’s in sain… absurd…evil
that such a discovery will not become an alternative to oil as soon as
possible… What are U waiting for ?

Ignorance is bliss. Solar Power is uneconomical. Innovation has
significantly slashed prices in the last decades. It is still not
economical nor will it be for decades. Gains to innovation are returning
diminishing returns. Do you even know how much energy is used to make those
panels?

Now, here in Arizona, they are creating a solar power plant. I wonder if
they utilize this new technology.

He said a concentration of light, which also means heat. I thought of a
fesnel lense before, but dismissed it thinking that much heat would destroy
a solar cell. Maybe not. This is going to be very big if it works.

That’s awesome. But I think the wave of the future is to have individual
houses have their own solar power, hooked up to the grid so they can also
sell it back when they create more than it uses.

@Templaria Its because they don’t want anyone gawking how one solar panel
costs 30,000 dollars. Solar panels don’t work, and they never will. People
that do use them are idiots. We’ve been using coal and oil since..well
almost up to the dawn of mankind! Solar panels came to be in what- 1941?
Its 2011/2012 now, and we’ve gone from the Model T to your modern day
Acura’s, Taurus, etc…. Iphones, Ipads, and the list will go on. Remember
Solyndra? They were given over 500 million, and collapsed.

Did anyone read the news that 2 HUGE solar power plants are being built in
San Luis Obispo County in California ??? They will have a capacity of 800
megawatts….That’s a great start ! ! ! The power will be sold to PG &
E….. One megawatt powers a Walmart Store, to give you an idea….Sierra
Cuban, Miami…..

ourselves and look into clean energy

What a wonderful video. I’m also going to show it to my class, even though
they might be to young to fully appreciate it. What we really need is for
President Obama to use his power to close down every coal and oil company
in the country. After he sets a good example, I’m sure the rest of the
world will follow. Why would China and Russia want the blame for causing
global warming that kills everyone on the planet? The President then needs
to punish those oil and coal CEOs (nuclear power CEOs to) for crimes
against the planet by holding Neremburger type trials like they did in Nazi
Germany at the end of the First World War. I’m not saying that we hang the
business people, but lock them up for maybe 20 years and take away all of
there money!

As usual, the producers ignored that elephant in the room – OVERPOPULATION!
We will never be energy or food secure until our population is reduced to
what can be sustained, about ONE billion humans, not seven billion.
All of the alternative energy sources shown depend upon fossil fuels for
their production & maintenance.
Fusion will always be in the future especially if they don’t expect a
“breakthrough” by 2040. By then we will be out of affordable fossil
resources to power the start of the fusion process.
Even if we can produce enough electricity to keep the lights on which is
doubtful, we still won’t have the resources to grow & transport our food.
Because we refuse to address the overpopulation problem, I see the old 4
horsemen crashing our excess numbers, WAR, famine, disease & starvation.
So are we really “homo sapiens”, I think not, we are like yeast in a petri
dish & with the same fate.

what a load of scaremongering!.
Look at history – the sum total spillage of LNG over 50 years is about 40m³
from the entire fleet. One ship received an exocet missile in an LNG tank –
it was too cold to ignite. LNG ships aren’t allowed in port without 3-4
tugs in attendance. Natural gas is lighter than air – it rises, the fire
rises. the picture showing a circle of heat is inaccurate – the wind would
focus it in one direction – no wind would let it rise.
now what about the hydroelectric? in a freak storm, the downstream areas
would suffer with or without the dams. the dams just buy them extra time.
there is no consideration here for the redundancy of systems to ensure
safety
its healthy to be scared of these energy sources, such that the operators
are careful.
if a fly gets in the way of the fusion laser, then that fly bites a nations
leader, just imagine the buzz that nation would get!
with this much rubbish in this documentary, I really can’t believe the rest
of it.One wonders who’s drum they are beating

This is a negative future, and the introduction says, “it is because we are
addicted to energy”. How stupid! It is our addictions to the wrong energy
sources, not the general statement “energy”.

We need to invest in safer cleaner gen IV nuclear reactors that are capable
of reusing old reactor waste and even providing excess heat to generate
hydrocarbon fuels, partly from the carbon dioxide that is choking our
planet. We need to get past the negative stigma created by Cold War era
reactor designs – their failures and inherent risks – and focus on the
promising future that Thorium fueled reactors provide.
