Probably not the best day for a “test flight.” Notice the tree tops blowing around in the background? That’s a lot more than a gentle breeze, and the venturi effect of the runway corridor could be problematic. It is hard to get a feel for the aircraft, it’s controls and detect any problems, when you are bouncing around (and distracted by) the turbulence. Just a thought. Test flew countless experimentals for 20+ years.
When I was living in Brasil, there were pretty regular stories about people losing their heads to the glass covered strings the kids use for their kite wars. Don’t know if it made it to law, but it was being mulled over to mandate a steel rod on the front of motorbikes and pedal bikes for that specific reason.
There are two guys that fly one person kit copters around our town and I’d like to kick both of them square in the head. Round and around the town they’ll go with those droning assed engines in your ears. Annoying as hell.
all helicopters stop at a certain altitude because the air is less dence witch affects the performace of the motor and blades. Even a R44 starts having trouble at 8k
this is NOT a mosquito, the mosquito is not turbine. this is a (probably homebuild) expiremental and thus he doesent want to go too high for safety reasons, also it appears he never leaves “ground effect” but im sure its possible. the mosquito and this helicopter will fly as high as you have gas to take it. why would it stop at a certain altitude? that doesent make sence.
Umm… I know. I wasn’t referring to that. I just deleted my comment because your the second person who’s informed me of my error, but I wasn’t referring from a political stance nor was I referring to corporate corruption. Just because I don’t like gas, doesn’t mean I don’t think for myself, or suck in all the bs that corporations drop on us. It’s my PERSONAL opinion that I think we could eventually do better without gas. I don’t get that from the media. I just obsess over self sufficiency.

Good job. So much work to fly one of these things you don’t get much chance to enjoy the scenery.

You can fly up to 12,500 feet continuous and up to 14,000 feet for up to 30 minutes without supplemental oxygen under FAA regulations.
