will a solar panel make electricity if a mirror reflects sunlight on it?

Question by : will a solar panel make electricity if a mirror reflects sunlight on it?
suppose a solar panel is kept in a shade.obviously, no electricity will be produced. but if I use a mirror from outside the shade and reflect sunlight so that it reaches to the panel, will it make electricity?

Yes. A fraction of the energy would be lost though

You bet ! that’s part of the process to convert sunlight to solar power to electricity.

Redirect lights usually make much concentrated light beam and therefore do not cover most of your solar panels.
You need to have a larger mirror(or several mirrors) to reflect the incoming light source so that it does cover 100% of your solar panels.

    Yes it will produce electricity under those circumstances. In fact, a photovoltaic panel will produce power from indirect light – eg on a cloudy day.

    Yes with our without the mirror assuming there is still ombient light be it direct or indirect in the room. It wouldn’t produce as much as being in direct sun light of course.

    Yes, solar panel work with sunlight. It does not matter sun light comes from direct sun or after mirror reflects this sunlight.
