I have a question about the OutBack PSX-240 6000 Watt auto transformer, if i use this with the modified square 120 vac inverter will I get a modified square wave in a 240 vac, or will the wave be more like a true sine wave?

I have seen some vawts that work but most of them don’t. The problem is getting a pma that will work at low rpms.

Jeff, What’s your real thoughts on wind turbines? I see you only have standard wind turbines vs. VAWT. I’ve been looking into VAWT as a diy. Have a really good idea for one, just curious.

You can check out TheBillythekid2010, he has a video on doing that.

Can this controller be used with a grid-tie inverter as the main place for power to go and the resisters as the dump load?

I like it but I would rather have a GTI instead of a inverter and because I have been using my GTI as my dump load for now and works greatI like this set up jeff. but I would guess you can when ordering take a way and add you should set up a system like a computer place dose have you different models and then choices to add or remove items to suit there needs. I do love this setup I have mine so fare set up to measure voltage from both turbine and battery bank serperat and current of turbine

Billy, i had not thought of that but now that you have suggested it, i will.
The back plate is coated and won”t rust. When we run out of the one you see in the video i will be using the shiny galvanized back plates again.
Thanks for the good idea Billy.

I have a Q for you. Can a guy just buy the panel? I need another back board with nothing on it. But this is a lot better than wood, an look’s be neat to. This will help a first timer’s get a start and not hurt the wallet!! Good vid Jeff_Billy

completely understandable. Though thinking back, I have had to rework most of my first builds because I wished to take the cheaper way out.
The main reason I buy from you and some others is not to have to re-do the job and waste money.
Today me and my daughter drove by a house with two roof mount three prop turbines. I have never seen them turn. Because of that great video on wind flow, I was able to explain to her why they don’t turn.
Thanks for what you do.

The pure sign wave inverter would cost about 75 to $100.00 more, that would increase the cost. The idea is for a guy to be able to get started without having to take out a loan.
For now the modified is what it comes with. I will be offering a pure sign wave later on.

Thank you. It’s been about 4 months since my lung cancer surgery. I am doing allot better.
The decision hasn’t been made yet but about $400.00 or less. It will be on my website soon.

Just wondering why not just offer the true sine wave inverters, even though they are more money? They will run everything that would run on the grid as long as you don’t exceed the capacity of the setup.

Not much wind here in southern Indiana unless theres a storm brewing, the system would never pay for it’s self but solar is good.
