I have a Ford F-150 Platinum TV’ s in both head rest navigation, fully
loaded factory Sony sound system with sub and amp. And video games systems
hook u p’s for my kid when he’s old enough to use it lol. He’ll be 1 July
30th 2014. And I cannot leave my truck on without killing the battery it is
original battery 2010 factory so I know it’s time for new one. I live in
Michigan where the winters can be bad like the one we just got out of smh.
Not sure red or yellow top. Help oh and why not get interstate battery,
some tell me it’s better I don’t know myself.

I bought an Optima battery for my car and it lasted only 2 years. I had
hoped for more life. I won’t buy another Optima battery based on my
    experience.

Which kind of optima battery is best suitable for an electric vehicle?

  5. OPTIMA Batteries says:

@Dansz71sierra When you upgraded your lighting, did you also upgrade your
alternator and wiring? A YellowTop is a better choice for vehicles that
have significant electrical accessories that could deeply-discharge a
    battery.

if i never play my music with the car off which battery would be best? i
    was thinking blue

  7. OPTIMA Batteries says:

@Dansz71sierra Your electrical system will only be as strong as it’s
weakest link. If you only run accessories with the engine running and your
alternator and wiring are up to the task, you should be fine with a RedTop
    battery.

  8. OPTIMA Batteries says:

@BrentonSpratt If you have upgraded your audio system, the deep-cycle
capability of an appropriately-sized YellowTop definitely makes it a good
choice. However, the battery is just one piece to the puzzle for you. As
you have increased your electrical demands, you also need to consider how
that will impact your charging system. If your alternator is failing, it
might be a good idea to replace it with a higher-output alternator.
Upgrading your wiring would also be a wise investment.

@bigdczeke All new YellowTops and RedTops come with three-year warranties

  10. OPTIMA Batteries says:

If any battery fails from a manufacturing defect, it is likely to do so
well within the first year of use, if not the first month. Beyond that,
warranties are largely a function of marketing and not necessarily
    indicative of product quality.

  11. OPTIMA Batteries says:

We would recommend an appropriately-sized YellowTop or BlueTop (or more,
depending on your energy consumption). Be sure all batteries mounted in
enclosed locations are properly-vented to the outside air

  12. OPTIMA Batteries says:

Our BlueTop battery is a marine battery, intended to be used in boats. For
an automotive application, you would need either a RedTop starting battery,
    or a YellowTop deep-cycling battery.

  13. OPTIMA Batteries says:

Definitely a YellowTop. Be sure to watch our video on measuring parasitic
draw as well, to make sure your battery isn’t being discharged by something
in your car when it sits idle

im running about 550watts of extra off road lights on my truck and was
wondering if i NEED a deep cycle battery and should i get a red top or
yellow top? i only need a deep cycle battery if i leave the audio/lights
running while its off correct? other then that it dosnt help with the
operation of lights at all right?

I’m looking to upgrade my 2 redtops to 2 yellow tops for car audio..why is
the warranty on the yellow top only 1 year than a redtop which is a 3 year?

Looking to purchase a battery(s) for an ‘2500w inverter’. Need to run a few
electronics out of my van such as a TV and Refrigerator. Which type of
battery [or set of batteries] would you recommend?

I just bought a Yellow Top for my 1998 Camry. 1:42 – If the battery has 2x
the life in normal car applications, then why do you only have a standard
36 month warranty? Why is the warranty the same as any other normal battery?

  20. infringinator says:

I had a red top in my camaro and ran a kicker 12” sub, video screens, and
could use it for an hour without the engine on. Optima is my favorite brand
of battery. They cost more but last twice as long.

  21. Brenton Spratt says:

I have recently had a duel sub and AMP installed in by car (2x 12″ running
at 250 RMS and the AMP is 900 watt) about a week later i started having the
battery warning light turning on indicating the alternator was not working
properly and a week after that i had a flat battery. I have been looking
around online and have been suggested to get a Yellow Top battery. Would
the yellow top be what i Need for my sound system?

  22. Dansz71sierra says:

@OptimaBatteries will be putting a new 140amp alt in it aswell and i was
told the wireing that i have now would be fine

  23. snakev10v5 says:

@OptimaBatteries if I wanted all 3 of these how much would it come to? I am
thinking of hooking up motor or something to see what speeds I can get out
    of the batteries..
