I don’t understand how you vented the batteries? Two hoses went outside, Ok
I see that, but…How where the hoses connected to the batteries. Were the
hoses connected to the batteries or just sitting beside them?

thanks for the video. we wish we would have watched this one when we first
started. our first solar purchase were the harbor frieght panels. they
served us well for our first set and we actually bought two more kits. we
brought them with us to Idaho and although we have a 2k watt system now for
our completely off grid home, we still use the harbor freight for some side
juice! Thanks and Gob Bless..liked the scripture in the begining!

Use a 120 volt battery system with a 120 volt DC to AC inverter for best
results

Nice idea however I have a few questions. The connections you have outside
from the panels….why not inside? I would hate to go outside in the rain
to look for them in a storm. A few suggestions are: Have what is called a
drip leg or loop on the cables before they pass through the wall so when
they get wet the water stays outside, also use Dielectric grease (Auto
Parts Store) on the connectors coming from the panels as it prevents
corrosion an moisture intrusion from affecting the terminals. The vent
tubes you have at the batteries need to be sloped down and out as it is not
only gas but liquid as well that gets vented and not at a high pressure
either, you don’t need a clog also use clear tubing because not only does
the tubing break down from the inside, you will know it is venting and when
to replace the tubing. Install a high amp disconnect/isolation switch
should the need of a quick shut down be needed. Keep the tools needed close
by. One last thing, the components (inverter, charger, filter,
batteries,….) that you have tucked away, it would be best if they were on
exposed shelving some even on a wall so they won’t get ignored and have you
say “How long has this been sparking or over heating” because they do get
warm. Remember, you’re preppers…plan for what can go wrong ahead of time.
I would like to show my system but in these uncertain times, there are
those out there that like what you have and don’t share your
beliefs… Keep up the good fight regardless!

for venting use a dryer vent kit.

Thats All and good for A Shingle Roof!
I live in Las Vegas NV! With a CERAMIC ROOF!!
Quite harder,…. much harder to Install!
Unless you have a Do it Yourself Demo for People like me!!!

you did. God bless you guys.

neat video dont care about your reasons for installing them its your
buisness your choice not my place to comment really but still verry
informative fairly clean job of the install and the tutorial only thing id
sugest is on those terminal covers place the rubber rings attatched to the
coveres on first followed by your conectors then the screw its a little
thing but makes it a bit harder to accidentally lose one if it falls off

2 questions.
Why did you hook the inverter directly to the batteries and not the box.
Second why did you hook the batteries up like that or is it because of the
panels.
I got the same system. But thinking of hooking two batteries up to make
them 24 instead of 12.
Oh one more. Did you drill a hole on the batteries to allow the gases to be
released.
I wonder does anyone know how hot a battery gets, when the gases start
coming off of them.
I like the video. It was neat

What can you power with that little investment? I want to start saving for
some solar panels for my dads ranch. I’m trying to figure out how much
power need to power a drill or saw once in a while.

I have quick question, why wouldn’t you insulate the wires. I would like
to know if that would provide a better flow if and when it snows, and also
would you want to install a set of heater wires to go around the panels on
the roof to keep the snow from accumulating.
