Hi there, I am trying to gather information about home solar system (I am
interested in installing one in my house) just a couple of questions:
1) Could you charge the battery from the grid with these inverters that you
use?
2) Those programmings that you have (when to connect/disconnect from the
grid), Did you do it by yourself? Is it like a real programming thing or is
it just a matter of putting numbers (the inverter comes pre-programmed)?
Could you please give me the details of this programming part?
Thank you very much for your help.

Great job & Very informative Sir BUT I’m perplexed by the “oxymoron” used
when you
referred to the “electrical meter” as a, “Smart Meter”?? lmFao, I think it
can pay you back when you feed them electric but the Bastards are Ripping
ya’ll off!! Mine does it here in Texas as well, although I now work with
credits instead of them writing me a check…..lol, they just want it
all….and your wife & dog if you let em’ so I hope you start getting the
monies they owe plus keep a file for ALL the months between now & when they
come on-line….lol, you may get more than you thought…many courts are
making them pay it back at the rate + adding interest too…..nice job
mate, peace

Great videos.Very Interesting. A Quick Question: In a grid tie system, how
do you connect the ac side of the inverter to the Main Consumer Unit or
Main Switch? Is it connect in the same terminals as the Grid conductors are
connected too?

Hello Martin, I was really interesting video very informative and
educational. I was just wondering what your complete system cost total? and
my second question is if we have a ploy of land with several out building
with grid power coming in at 7.6 KW how many panels will we need in total
and are the 250 watt panel a better option and is this because it’s cheaper
to replace a smaller wattage panel should it break down? I run a kids
home here in Thailand so am thinking of eventually going 100% solar if that
is actually possible.. Your system plan details would be a great help to us
to help us in our plan to eventually become self-sufficient I would truly
appreciate any help that you can offer in way of list of equipment needed
and possible cost per unit and inverter prices. I am aware that every
country price structure is different but just need a price guide to be able
to monitor or put figures together. What are the drawbacks and does it run
well on winter days, we don’t really have snow here but our seasons are all
4 month’s long winter is 4 month’s with a few hours of dull sun shine each
day and some winters we don’t see the sun for a two week period. Appreciate
you and value your time. Thanks Gareth You can contact me directly via

This was such an interesting video. It would be good if you could mount the
solar panels on a moving bracket which could raise/lower the angle of the
array during the course of the day.

hi there, I live in south Africa(JHB) the way your house is set up is just
the way I would like to set my one up, I do believe that it is the best
of 3 worlds, and hope to bring my bill down to the min, how much does
something like that cost and where can I get a quote as I need to make a
plan asap, the bills are killing me, do you have a solar geyser or a normal
one?

You need a 120 volt battery back up with a 120 volt DC to AC inverter.

I’m confused…if within a month you only produced 220KWh, that is around
£24.40 per month here in the UK at a £0.12 per KWh. If an average
installation cost £20K, then you need 68 years to break even providing the
system does not break down!…
Is it worthy?

i live in india where temperature in summers reach upto 40-44 deg celcius
so is it possible to run air conditioners on solar panels ??…coz i get
heavy light bills due to over use of ACs so thought of opting to this
energy but is it possible to run 2-3 air condition on solar energy 7 days a
week 12 hours a day ??…coz if u go everything energy efficient from led
lights to using of fans to using of flourascent bulbs thn i dont think u
need to solar panel for that much of consumption…so please reply..:)

batteries you are supposed to connect the negative lead last to help avoid
explosion. Do you know if that’s true?

I have been following him and his projects here on You Tube for some time

always seamed to be a good person. I enjoy watching him learn about all of
the different systems and equipment required in living off the grid. I have
even learned a few things my self. So why can’t you guys just lay off?
