Good video. I bought the same panels and wanted to see how other people
added the connectors. I’m still trying to think of a good way to mount them
on my roof since I’m renting a place here in the Philippines. It’s a metal
roof and the owners want to limit any drilling etc and I want to be able to
remove them if I move somewhere else.

might want to start saving up for roof repairs… that’s not looking so
    hot

  3. bwillan says:

What brand of flexible solar panels are you using for this project?

  4. John Scelsi says:

good stuff. do you know if the length of wire from the panels to the boxs
and batteries creates any loss of energy?

  5. schpicasso says:

Can you provide us with some more info about panels please.
    Thank you in advance!

  6. Neil Bulfin says:

This looks great, very interesting and exciting application of cutting edge
technology. Where can I find out more about it, suppliers, specifications
available, etc. Many thanks in advance for any help you may be able to
    provide me on this.

try to put down a ceramic plate when you solder over plastic.

is it possible to power air conditioner w/ only solar panels?

  9. Tony Mawdsley says:

    Hi Guys….love your work
can you put in a link to where you scored your flexable solar panels from…
I have been looking around, but only can find Semi-Flexable & they look no
way as flexable as the ones you put on you roof.

Keep up the Good Work living the Good Life
    Regards
    Tony

Wow, this makes you wonder why manufactures don’t offer an option to have a
fully solar roof (with the exception of the doodads like the ACs and stuff
    of course).

  11. Solar Companies Gold Coast says:

Cool solar panels! Flexible solar panels are ideal and much better because
you can put them elsewhere. Its also easier to mount directly to the roof
    without screws. This is cool!

  12. My RV experiences says:

Hope all is well. As i embark on this solar panel adventure for my class A
motorhome I would like to understand how you made the decision of which
company to go with for your panels. Your Go Power 500W system seem to be
exactly what i would like to do and in comparing flexible Solar Panels i
also came across Renogy and if i price out the same size system, it would
be about half the cost of the Go Power and the real state is exactly the
same. Did you do any comparison between manufacturers that you can share
with me before I do any purchases?

  13. Rick Zolla says:

So. you’ve had your new panels for a few months. Do you still like them??

  14. RedTeamWolf says:

This isn’t related to the panels, but to your tow vehicle. Why go with a
smart car? I know they are fuel sipping and small but what about a suzuki
samurai or a chevy tracker? They would let you go off road to find the
perfect few, and are roughly the same size and use about the same fuel, but
they don’t use the expensive stuff like a smart does

  15. Jeff Woodard says:

Since I am single I thinking class C motorhome , wandering how many panel I
can get on it, and who will install it for me? I do think I need a
professional to do it for me

  16. ronin51670 says:

WOW! outrageous price on them panels for 100W. Nice layout though

  17. JimOnex says:

Jason so silly … stomping all over the back three, then CAUTIOUSLY walks
around the two in front … AMAZING!!! Thanx very much for the update,
    glad to see em!

  18. metho kingsley says:

u guys might of made a mistake though. panels work based on the temperature
of them. i would not have them directly touching anything that can conduct
heat well. i would of propped them up on a non heat conductive material. i
live in canada and my panels work really well in the winter because of how
cold they get. the hotter the panel gets the less efficiency it will be.
lets hope my words prove wrong and u get good returns on power :D

  19. Lawrence Rhodes says:

Where can I buy these panels? I need 1.2 kw@ 156vdc aproxx. More voltage is
good. Space is 5 ft -by 15 & can be adjusted. This for a solar vehicle.
Your video didn’t have contact info. Trying to copy Stella solar vehicle
    with off the shelf parts.

  20. rnordquest says:

In your zeal to seal down the edges, it looks like you will create a pond
on top of the panels anytime it rains. Is there any provision for
    drainage?

  21. earthbrown8 says:

I am surprised they are that durable! How come technology hasn’t found a
way to make Slate so durable? One still cannot even walk on a slate roof
let alone dance around on it and not end up doing a lot of damage. Cool

hi ther can u giv an example of wat type brand model battery this panel
can charge? and how many batteries it can charge

  24. Jeff Woodard says:

How many batteries you got? Would more batteries help? Who can help you put
them on I don’t do hieghts!

  25. Johnny Deuces says:

The link to the your website on the Flex Solar Panel is broken and I also
did a search and that was broken as well. Have you had any issues with the
    new flex panels?

  26. Rusty Glen says:

    Hi Guys
We are “Honky Tonk Inn ” as the name on our RV would suggest.
As full time Rv’ers previously in New Zealand and now in the US and as an
RV Tech and ex automotive engineering specialist, we really enjoy your
    videos.
I did notice in this video, although you glued down the solar panels “nice
job I would go that route myself” I did see you still used screws to secure
the cables and links, I would have just run a bead of Dicor lap seal over
them, while holding them temporarily with tape.
After 12 hours or so they would have been stuck fast and you could remove
the tape, making the whole job screwless and still making cable removal in
    the future easy.
Just a thought, Keep up the great work.
Thanks and hope to see you on the trail some day.

these kids seem overly happy and thats grand and all -but very few people
can do what they are doing … very unrealistic. hate to sound like a
downer – but its the truth.. they must be pulling from a pretty large
resource ( money wise ) but hey if you can afford this way of traveling –
go for it … only a very few could do it like this though

  28. Adam Bryner says:

    Thanks for posting!
Can you guys also showcase your WIFI setup with the Wilson antenna?

  29. Cbrentwood Brentwood says:

Please tell us if these solar panels that are sold in the kit by go
electric. Are made by sunpower in California?
There is identical solar panel made by sunpower. All looks the same. I know
gp does not have factory. Or it can not be found. Someone is manufacturing
the panels for them. The reason I asked. There are reviews about these type
of solar that they are not so efecient as standard panels. And that sun has
to be high on sky to produce electricity.
I want to install one kit myself.

  30. Jeff Loitz says:

Great video I love the fact if you can stand and walk on them

  31. Tony orlando says:

Looks good, Great information, Love your site.

  32. Nathan Hawk says:

Thank you for all the info you have given me and my wife. We plan on buying
a motorhome next year for recreational camping and dry camping. Have you
ever looked into wind generators to go with your solar, and if so what are
    your thoughts on wind power?
