A kilowatt hour is 1000 watts for one hour
so a 500 watt panel is rated to make 500 watt hours per hour
so you will get 0.5KWh every hour the panel is in full sun.

A Kwh is a thousand (kilo) watts for an hour, it is a measure of energy, not a measure of maximum power . Since your solar panel will put out 500 Watts (a half Kilowatt), for every hour you draw 500 watts from it, you use 500 watt hours, or one-half Kwh. If you use 500 watts from it for 12 hours, you have used 12 times one half Kwh, or 6 Kwh.
I hope this helps you to understrand.
