Solar Battery bank and 2500 watt inverter

So I got the biggest inverter I could and it will be able to power everything i need in the event of an emergency. wish I could get more batteries but the be…

Hi, just thought you might be of some help. I just got this 5,000 watt
10,000 centech inverter came from harbor freight. Here is link what I have.
    http://www.harborfreight.com/5000-watt-continuous10000-watt-peak-power-inverter-60635-9865.html
But I can’t even run a hair dryer, it just beeps, hair dryer cuts on for
about 2 seconds, then goes off, then back on, and off, like its not enough
but the inverter is 5,000 watt, you would think it would run that, same
with my power drill, If you watch my video you can see what I am talking
about. I have it hooked up in my van to my battery, and the inverter is
also grounded. But I can run my 250 watt home stereo amp, with a tv, and
three lights that are 75 watt each, that works fine, but I hooked up a hair
dryer and its a 125v 1500watt vidal sassoon professional 1500. And I hooked
this up only, I had nothing else hooked up to it at all. Is it because I
don’t have a deep cycle battery, or not a big enough battery, Oh and I also
had my van running for a while thinking if I run my van it would work, but
still does the same thing. I hope you can please tell me what might be
wrong. Thank you. And hope you will respond back. Thank you very much if
you can help me with this.

Oh, I also tried my 1200watt microwave, and won’t even run that. And a
small window A/C Unit. That don’t work either. I really hope you can help
me on this, and know what I need to make this work right. Thank you. Oh I
am trying to convert my 1998 Chevrolet 1500 express van where I can run
stuff when not near electric. when camping or something. Thank you.

series is positive to negative then negative and so on your r running at
12 volts that way you just increased running hrs

  4. Michael Persico says:

    those batteries r paralleled though

I have an optimum blue top battery 12v. How much power would I get w 1 of
them and a 2500 watt converter using a fridge a small tv and ps3? I guess
what is my running time for these things with one battery and 60 watts? I
know its low wattage and a bare minimum……Nevertheless??? Someone just
help me answer my question please?

    Hello friends,
Hooking up the battery in series is actually double up the volts not the
amperage. Two 12v battery in series give you 24v.

How many watts are your solar panels

  9. MessengerofYahweh says:

That also significantly prolongs your battery life as well.

I saw that inverter going for around $300 on newegg and this guy has his
    vocabulary backwards!

For those serious about this kind of project and have the money, use deep
cycle marine sealed batteries. They will pay for them selves! many more
cycles (charge/discharge) and being sealed they will not vent gas when
charged or spill when and if knocked over.

How many watts is your solar panel?

  13. dannysx16 says:

also is 2500 W powerful enough for a fridge and how long would those two
batteries be able to run it?

  14. Gregory Scott says:

go with AGM batteris like the X2 from batteries plus, best bang for you
    buck

  15. dannysx16 says:

How much was that 2500 W inverter? Also is there a limit on the amount of
batteries, and isn’t it considered parallel instead of series? From my
understanding parallel is from negative to negative and positive to
    positive on the batteries.

  16. dannysx16 says:

    @taztaz79 thanks

  17. Wes T paintninjagc says:

do you use standard car batteries? are those two enough to run a fridge and
a tv and a computer? and for how long?

  18. Albertzz99 says:

You’re right, he’s on a disinfo campaign 😉 It’s parallel, and it doubles
the amps. Voltage remains the same (12V).

  19. grung1 says:

What size batteries are you using if you don’t mind my asking? I’m planning
on running a 2500 watt invetor with my trucks alternator to power a little
slide in camper with mini fridge, small tv a few lights etc… Would you as
well recommend 4 batteries for a job like this?

  20. pz17 says:

Oh, ok. The main purpose of my setup is to run a sump pump in case we get a
power outage, but I don’t need to have the whole generator set up, like we
get some heavy rain and I might only need a few hours of pumping.

  21. Electronicdawg says:

Always bread the instructions that came with your inverter, and charge
controller. Hook batterys first, then turn it on

  22. Олeжек says:

what kind of solar panel are you using? and how many watts is it?

  23. Aaron Hosein says:

    parelel not sereise

  24. linuxpyro says:

Nice setup, but it looks like you’ve got smaller battery cables for the
inverter. If you do want to pull full power from it, it’ll be pulling more
than 210 amps at 12 volts. Usually, you’d use 4/0 cable for something like
this. If you’re only going to use around 1500 or so, though, 2/0 would
probably work. If you’re not running a whole lot, though, what you have is
    probably fine.

I’m kinda new at this solar thing but isn’t negative to negative and
positive to positive a parallel circuit not series? parallel increase
volts/amp. A series connection is positive to negative. Anyways nice set up
    good luck.
