We are a manufacturer of nano-tech cleaners and coatings. Just finished
testing our solar panel coating getting a min of 9% increase in overall
output and a 2% better “loss of energy” along with preventing oxidation and
making it easy to clean/keep clean. Nano products will be the “new normal”
    when cleaning & maintaining surfaces.

Could Nano-technology change the way we think about solar?

  5. Gennex Solar says:

Hybrid is the best way forward, nano technology to reflect is being
    experimented on now.

  6. World Solar says:

#nanotechnology will change #solar energy in the coming decade

  7. life42theuniverse says:

Sweet you’ll be able generate electricity with your clothes. And throw the
mixture into paint and paint it onto cars then you have a virtually
weightless power source. Paint it onto the houses to provide high
efficiency solar generation. Put it into the roads have your house
generate electricity. …. just everywhere give everything power.

  8. R. Russell White says:

when i hear Nano i think of the destruction of man kind
, this technology will change society in such profound ways that we will
    no longer be human

I think nano technology will create the next big technological revolution.

  12. InFamousNFX says:

when I hear nano technology I think of microscopic robots implanted in your
body to help filter out wastes or potentially give more control over
certain functions of your body such as aging and muscle growth. or the nano
    suit from crysis lol.

having this new technology that will help us gather energy from nature..
will make our future more clean and we will have affordable electricity (I
    hope)

  18. OrigamiKillerz says:

I do think nano-technology can be a great thing but when not treated well
be very harmful to the human body, just like asbestos, there are already
nano-sprays for things like coating shoes to not get dirty or whatshowever,
    this conserns me a bit…

  19. Jeremy Rabinowicz says:

For some reason this episode made me really happy

  20. YamiShadow Kitty says:

When I hear nanotechnology my first thought is “NANOMACHINES, SON!” xD

But on a more serious note, I could see it being a way of just generally
increasing efficiency in every available field out there. Smaller internal
hardware for a laptop, for example, could mean less coolant issues because
the extra space could be used in ways to increase coolant efficiency.
There’s obviously was that nanotechnology could innovate on its own, but
being that science isn’t one of my strong points what stands out most to me
is the ways in which it will, quite simply, enhance what we’re currently
    working with.

I see another comment talking about potential risks with nanotechnology,
but very seriously speaking every single technology has both risks and
benefits. Something as simple as an axe for chopping firewood could also be
a weapon of mass-murder, for example. Everything, in the hands of the wrong
person, could be harmful, while inversely could be helpful in the hands of
the right person. But on a more basic level still, even /without/ anything
in hand, the wrong sort of person is a problem. The fact is, while this
technology has “risks”, the real risk is actually people. Dead is dead and
hurt is hurt, however it’s done. There’s the argument that giving more ways
to kill is bad, but inversely there’s the argument that giving more ways to
help is good. By its very nature technology is a double-edged sword, and
how it’s used is dependent upon people, rather than technology itself. The
risk is real and should always be acknowledged, but it shouldn’t inherently
put a stop on further technology.

Nanotechnology is not for solar. I think Concentrated solar power plant is
still cheaper and better than solar panel.

  24. New Life Housing says:

when I hear nano I think of smaller than I can see, like a coating that
fills in the holes on a sheet of glass making it smooth, what we see as
normal glass is actually a sheet with dents..I am so excited about solar
panels, especially living in Los Angeles, Cali the electric bills are
ridiculous and i will be able to afford to save with solar.. I took a class
in photovoltaic class and Im glad at this point that I wasn’t able to
afford panels to date because it looks like technology is going to be
better and more affordable shortly. I enjoyed your channel and presentation

  25. Nathan Davenport says:

Awesome video! I just commented on another one of your videos early today
asking if you would do a video on groundbreaking nanotechnology, and boom!
To answer your question I can see a wide variety of uses made possible
through nano tubes. I envision a future where we are able to inject carbon
nano tubes or structures that are attracted to bone ends and could mend a
broken bone on the spot in minutes if it was set properly. Another use
could be the end of wires in a car or plane. The entire skin of the vehicle
could store energy and information while providing protection.

  35. shmadmanuts says:

renewable energy in isolated areas with plenty of sun/wind, yeas
but because it’s non-uniformity, you can’t have renewable energy replacing
the whole fosil-fuel produced energy (nuclear is a solution)

  36. Timothy Wayne says:

Great stuff! Nice work. The public really needs to see more of this. Have
you heard anything about a new system called Optimal Future Energy
Deployment (it should be on Google)? I’ve heard some interesting things
about it and my brother got some amazing results. I’ve also been searching
for solutions to the problem of wind turbines killing birds and bats.
Ultrasonic acoustics looks like a possible answer to saving bats, but I
haven’t read anything lately about the best way to keep birds away from
wind turbines. Have you heard anything?

  37. SOAS007 says:

A wind salesman full of wind! We have nearly 4,000 windmills in the UK,
total possible output 7GW. Today output. as I write…. We have a demand of
37.01gw. (summers day, so relatively low ) wind is making 0.29GW thats that
is 0.78% and it is heavily subsidised.. Fusion is the answer!
