Wiring Up Off Grid Tiny House Solar Panels And Battery Bank N18

I spent the better part of a day wiring up the tiny home solar panels and solar battery bank. It was a cloudy day which is perfect for wiring up solar panels…

PEOPLE KEEP IT CLEAN. YOU ARE COSTING ME HOURS OF WORK DELETING THIS FILTH.
NO CURSING, PORN, SWEARING OR OTHER FILTH ON THIS CHANNEL. IF SOMEONE DOES,
NO NOT REPLY. YOU WILL THEREBY MAKE MY JOB EASIER. THANK YOU

Troy you really have a very special talent for making this kind of video.
You talk to us as if we are right beside you and when we watch, we feel as
if we really are right there at your side. You have maintained the child
like ability to keep your imaginary friend real and present. The difference
is that we are very real, just delayed. Doing what you do does not come
easily to many people. It is a gift and a real talent.

Did i miss something? I hear lots of moaning about having nothing, no
power, no tools. I thought you had 10 different ways to charge things? Huge
battery chargers, little battery chargers, generators of various type.
Pretty much a few gallons of gas away from having power to tide things
    over?

I thought you had mastered this solar setup stuff, are the panels destroyed
    to?

I see you troyvians cant utilize facts and find anything wrong about us so
you resort to using fake accounts to berate our channel names…. this only
goes to prove you troyvians are full of shit liars and cant prove anything
of what you say and are grasping at straws when it comes to trying to
gather usable stuff against us. tough huh when we only tell the truth and
you have nothing but lies to fall back on.

Connecting the solar panels and battery bank in my tiny home

  6. W8FG says:

Anybody really believe this bedini bs?

  7. lloyd stevens says:

lol you have a wood stove you could make a steam to power a generator for
power at night when its cold and you have no light for solar power

  8. Neil Shubert says:

Were you able to shorten the wires from the panels any? Also, if you can
eliminate any steel or galvanized steel to copper connections in your
battery box, that would be great. If you need some copper, just call me and
I can get some for you.

Troy I am so glad you are showing the successes and the failures and how
much time it takes to do things. Trust me most people I know who have
electric fences have unintentionally touched them and gotten a shock.

Noticed around here they now have signs that warn people ‘electric fence’,
because we have so many hikers/backpackers who are used to climbing under
or thru a barbed wire fence and when they would try it with a non barbed
wire fence and they did not know it had electricity and got a shock, it may
    have hurt.

As IrishKitty and others have inquired, maybe an update on eggs?
Please?????? (big smile) Love fresh eggs. Even more so in winter for some
reason. Maybe because of all the baking I do.

+The Do It Yourself World I know you have been busy with the trolls but
have you had a chance to check out +Memphis Applegate ‘s channel lately?
You were right his wood working videos are really good. He recently made a
Bat House because I asked him to. Isn’t that sweet? Everyone kept
telling you to get one but I didn’t know what it was… so he built one.
It’s pretty cool. He also just did a funny video about trolls… you’ll
    get it I think. :)

    Warning!
you should really think about Grounding! CAN you put that bare aluminum
wire to a ground rod? Do you have any grounds connected yet? Remember if
lightning hits in the meadow it will come to the house. Ground the panels
frames in the meadow to a rod out there, and bond it to the bare wire of
the main feed to the house, and ground that bare wire again next to the
house as well. Also, join your cable wire ground to that very same point.
Its called a Single Entry Point Ground. Every wire that comes in from
outside must be bonded to the rod at the same entry point. Give lightning
only one point before entering the building to go to ground. NEC says 2
ground rods, no closer than their combined length, so 2 rods 8 feet long,
16 feet apart. Be safe my friend!

How is your egg production doing? Any improvement?

  13. Lynn Morrow says:

Troy what happened to keeping your channel clean for all the children that
watch.Double standards. Leaving this up for so long really shows some
    class.

  14. TimeDrawsNigh says:

Hey Troy, you’ve lost me on your wiring. Why would you have two
interconnects on a single string, wiring all four post on a pair of 6 Volt
batteries? (the two brand new ones) It make no electrical sense and could
damage the batteries. It looks like the other two strings are wired this
    way also?

  15. Dan G says:

I thought it might be appropriate to post here that the US power grid was
hacked 79 times this year and over 140 times last year. Fortunately, nobody
found out how to turn the power off yet, but that statistic should be
enough to make people want to live off the grid. Go google it on CNN. They
also describe this in detail at the National Spy Museum in Washington, D.C.
    if any of you go.

Once I’m 18, I’m going to build my own house and make sure it’s all good to
go off-grid wise incase a simple power outage happens or if there’s a major
    cyber attack.

  16. IrishKitty1024 says:

Not to bright touching the hot wire! LOL!

  17. gene mayne says:

its very odd a 200 watt panel giving 16 watts got to have be been
destroyed put HF panels back on. and do an open test on that 200 watt think
its see dead as battery’s and you do need to test the cables could be crack
in cable troy have to do as we call In electronics, a continuity test is
the checking of an electric circuit to see if current flows (that it is in
    fact a complete circuit)

  18. David R says:

I read what was posted, and thought it was fake right off, because it was
lacking in professionalism. The first mistake they made was blaming you for
something, that if it were true they should have taken care of a long time
ago. Then by coming to your youtube site to say it, would be the same as
someone taking revenge (or at least making it look that way), skipping
court altogether. Makes them guilty just for doing that. They also make
fixed by doc suffer in the long run for it, and with people like that, its
a wonder he has any viewers. I come to your channel to watch what your
doing, anything else does’nt matter to me. Keep up the good work, =)

  19. Warihi Tauhore says:

Troy I’ve watched every video you have posted. You inspired me to learn
more about solar power. In the beginning when it snowed and you were cold I
like that guy. You are an intelligent man…..but I sense a deep sadness.
I visited my girlfriend in Manila…. She lives in a slum.
She never complained once in the 18 months I’ve known her online.
The reality of her life changed me.
You are a very fortunate man…..you have many gifts….
Please as she says be happy man…

  20. Duane C says:

sounds like you need an hour nap and a little food. Did you forget to eat
again today? Will wait till you have it all hooked up before saying
    negative stuff. lol.
As for the Hydrogen gas off, it will never get to a high enough
concentration to be a fire hazard, though the it might eat up the wood a
    little.

  21. 1timby says:

This is why folks don’t realize that solar isn’t always what it’s cracked
up to be. SO if the system isn’t properly designed for the area, peek sun,
non-peek sun, etc it won’t work as needed. We’ve so many folks that are for
replacing existing power producers for solar. They can’t get that most of
the adds for this stuff show peek conditions. Then there’s the battery
    issues.

  22. McCuneWindandSolar says:

I will have to agree with Justin Case on this. You need either Breakers or
Fuzz’s just encase of a problem. or both fuzz and a breaker, Breaker works
great as a quick switch and also a way to protect you system. and your
home. wish you luck my friend. But believe me its always better to do it
right than to be sorry that you didn’t.

  23. Teresa H says:

Love your videos, but really can’t comment as electricity and batteries are
Greek to me. Glad to hear you are getting a shower for your bathroom, will
give you more room in there. Can you not hook up your generator and get
some things charged for the.time being such as your riobi lights, phones
and computer? God Bless and take care. Give Baby Cat a rub on the head for
    me.

  24. Oliver Bishop says:

why didn’t you down the current so you could use smaller cables then
convert it higher closer to your battery’s would of meant your cable sizes
would of gone down thus saving costs also less power being wasted once you
convert the volts from being high to lower but gaining amps that’s what the
grid does for a good reason. this way you could of used 1mm- 2,5mm cables
vs what looks like least 6mm
