This is too cool. This would definitely be worth every penny…speaking of
pennies. How much would this cost?

  3. joe18370 says:

@lightshot1 are you worried about trees casting shadows or falling on the
house? 5 miles?? I must be missing something…. I know if your house’s
south side is not in shade, this works fine. I am going off-grid when I
build my next house. Just wish I could find some good cost estimators w/o
having to call a company for a quote. Anyone know of a site?

@Anothercoilgun I agree, solar panels integrated with the roof panels is
what I’ll be buying one day.

Why is there a need to wear a hard hat when on the roof? Tp protect against
birds droppings? Health and saftey madness. Why wear a fluro vest designed
for roads. We can see you without them

Integrated panels like these don’t produce anywhere near the voltage
traditional Solar panels produce. Maybe they would be good if you just
don’t like the aesthetics of huge panels. But for the cost per watt,
traditional panels just can’t be beat. Also, panels mounted above the roof
surface help reduce the heat to the roof in the summer.
