This video series shows the progression of how I acquired and reconditioned
a 1000 Amp Hour Battery Bank for use in my home power backup application.
Here are the batteries I will be working with.

Just watched the Whole Series on 1000 AH Battery Bank
Very Nice! I think you are aware of nearly everything you can do to make
this work better, but the small (approximately 3/8″ eye lugs) could use
some “help” and that would be using “Copper Shield” conductive compound on
the connections, bolts and threads. It would reduce voltage drop at the
    connectors.

I noted that you had said in one place in the series that desulphation
units were no good, and I’m sure there are many that do nothing. I have
been working with technology similar to the Bedini charging method (high
voltage pulse DC) and with very limited cycles, I have noted 20-25%
capacity gains, even on new, good batteries! Worth checking out, IMO. I am
still on that path and it is very promising. Working on the OU side of
things, but the normal practical aspects are fantastic.

Once again, very good series. Subbed

I got a bunch of gel cells. 63lbs each. I had over 50 of them. I’m not sure
how many I have left. They were free!

  6. Blue Screwdrivers says:

I thought if you stored car batteries on cement it drained them?

  7. consaka1 says:

You have cars in your garage? lol What a waste of good shop space. 🙂 JK.
Someday I want enough shop space I can put cars in the garage. ;)

  8. Mike Brink says:

If all no good u can scrap and get $80 for em at the junk yard. I prefer to
steal my batteries from greedy rich polluting corporations. If they make 60
billion a year they don’t seem to miss a few deep cycle batteries. Plus
they deserve to get their batteries stolen coz they are greedy scumbags.

  9. cody Austin says:

did u know setting batterys on your concret garage floor drains the battery

  10. Claude Rains says:

Holy cow 1000 amp hr @25 amps is like stealing candy from a baby at $40.00!
Never mind there life cycle of 15 years.

You could run a 1500 sq’ house on that with modest priced solar panels for
3 weeks. Assuming you do some LED lighting and efficient ACHeating and
    water heater setup.

Great deal for the do it yourself person.

  11. Mike Holden says:

Its Practicable guys, lol give him a break :)

  12. C Jayy says:

These batteries are used in pre made high quality off grid system kits with
all the extra equipment u need ( solar charge controller, solar
panels, wiring, fuses, battery monitors) for 3000 and 6000 watt configuration
setups sold in electronic hobby shops. They are also very expensive.

  13. Chris Turnblom says:

Dude, you should learn how to build a Bedini SG motor they rejuvenate dead
    sulfated batteries. I don’t know about the over-unity stuff because I don’t
have the money to buy 4 car batteries just for experiments but they do
    restore old batteries.

  14. Mitch Stout says:

Tell something about the blue heater up on shelf is it a wood burner or
    gas.

  15. Mike Holden says:

and another one, and another one, and another one, and another one, and
    yet, another one.

  16. Tim Gomes says:

    You are one lucky man…

after seeing this video, i try to understand the current price of the
battery … on RS components, the 26AH is over USD$400 … sheeeeeeeeshhhh

    A new word “PRACTICKABLE”

  19. Special EDy says:

I used to sub contract for AT&T, removing and replacing old coaxial
equipment from the field with fiber-optic technology. We used to get 10-30
12V 36A/h batteries a day. At some point I just started selling them for
    scrap, very sad indeed.

  20. Geovannijulzz69 says:

    420$ each nice grab

  21. Jim Waverly says:

‘practypical’, I have to love this guy based on his own vocabulary to
explain how he is going broke, but living the life through discarded crap
    of others. Love him!

  22. Nemo Nobody says:

give you $50 right now. cash.

  23. today ton says:

What do you think about the nickel iron battery?

  24. justgivemethetruth says:

Nice buy, those suckers retail for like $450 on the web.

  25. mrkopsho says:

What’s the chances you could get some more of those batteries at a
discount? I’d of course, pay you more than your awesome discounted price.
But I could really use those batteries for my off grid tiny home build.
