    whats the frequency output?

Lewis most commercial off the shelf ones are a modified sine wave (which is
basically a square wave), unless you purchase a pure wine wave inverter
    which are very pricey.

Curious to know if you have tried programming a rest in to get a better
sine wave out of the inverter? What do you think it would take to make it a
    pure sine wave inverter?

Great video. It has inspired me to take on an inverter project of my own.
I’ve just received some parts in the mail. 12 IRF1404 Power Mosfets and 4
4N37 photocouplers (2 spares). I’m curious as to where you salvaged that
transformer. I have one that came from an old 300A battery charger, and the
secondary is center-tapped, which is good, but I’m not sure about the
coils–they’re extremely thick windings and am afraid I’ll cook my fets.
I’ll be using the push-pull scheme instead of the H-bridge.

I’m aiming for 120 Volts with an available current of 30 A. My Mosfet setup
is rated for about 7200 amps pulsed, 1200 cont. I’m also using an Arduino
    Uno.

Again, thanks for the video. My area is expected to endure many outages
soon. Hopefully it will be functional by then.

Hey Lewis, great idea. Have you characterized the efficiency of the
circuit? If not, would you care to offer a guess as to whether it would be
more or less efficient than an off-the-shelf unit?

  7. Lewis Loflin says:

I believe a commercial unit would be far more efficient. there are a lot of
variables here most being the mass of the transformer, impedance, and the
fact this is a square wave. It works well for what it does, but is more a
    demo than anything.

hi, may I know how Mosfet is used to invert the signal.. I know during
first half of positive cycle you can get the positive pulse, not sure how
we are getting negative pulse for the second half, I know the basics of
arudino and mosfet(gate, drain and source ) … any explanation would be
    helpful, pls

how many amps is those mosefets using per hour, great video i want to run a
    house heater.

  11. Lewis Loflin says:

The MOSFET with a common source connect normally inverts so to keep them
180 degrees out of phase is done in software.
