Not too bad, but not a stand alone video. You made a few mistakes and left
out some safety hardware and cautions.

Terrible unsafe job…
– No switch between the panels and the solar charger, so the panels have to
be covered/disconnected when servicing the electrical system…
– It looks like some copper is showing where the positive wire is sliced
into the system -> short circuiting is easily possible, which leads me to…
– Not a single fuse is used in this install!
– The wires from the panel are fed trough a metal ventilation mesh without
any additional protection at all!
Videos like this is why incidents happen and people don’t trust shops
anymore!

Dicor = self leveling Epdm roof sealer
Pro-Flex was used in the sealing of the hole that ran the cables down to
the converter …..
The young narrator stated it was Dicor Lol ,he must of just got out of
Kelowna schooling

Excellent tutorial. Very well explained. You made it look so easy but for a
novice such as myself I’m sure to run into a little bump here and there.
But then again you guys are experts and I appreciate your sharing this
info. Thanks.

The charge controller needs to be as close to the batteries as possible to
get the most efficiency out of it. Best to be no more than 5 feet away from
batteries. This is a bad install and unfortunately this is how most are
done.

Thank you for confirmation, installed 45 w Harbor Freight system many years
ago, using this similar technique with upgraded controller. Worked fine
with no problems. Now upgrading to a used Kyocera 120 watt panel from ebay.
My orig brackets were DIY and held until a low branch did it’s trick in a
wooded area, also damaging a vent cover. Afterward, one panel of the three,
blew off on the North Padre Island causeway. Now I check ’em periodically
during long trips, just to be sure.

Great job! The naysayers really have no clue. This matches up with
fleetwoods info and they use much of the same.

Any tricks in finding studs on the roof or just anywhere works. I have the
rubber roof…still okay?
Any hints on running right to the battery? As for the route to do it?

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank You. I thought this was an
excellent video. Could you also do a video explaining how to wire in an
inverter to the converter?
