also, I was curious – you said to remove 1/3 of the water, but I’m not seeing any difference in the volume there. Does the water level rise after it’s fully carbonated (after the 30min you mentioned)?

wow! thanks so much for this! Not sure if my nearest landfill will let me go taking stuff, but I can hope. any reason to not use something like a paintball gun tank if I can’t get a 5lb tank (since 5lb tanks are over $100 new)

lol there are rules against such practices but if it wasn’t really trash to begin with then why not? If you’re careful you have nothing to worry about except another person spotting what you want first =)

I thought there was a law or whatever from taking things from a dump. I want to get treasure diving now :I Though not literally… I don’t want to be stuck by hyperdemic needles with aids or something :I

thanks! i saw this video and went onto research and bought the gears online. But it won’t be here when I run out on my sodastream so i’ll fill the tank with some dry ice pellets first.

Very well done video. I was thinking about buying a SODASTREAM for my wife’s birthday. Her and my two kids drink an outrageous amount of DIET COKE. We recycle the empty bottles, but there has to be a better alternative, THIS IS AMERICA and as Americans we occupy our minds trying to figure out how to do things cheaper and better. Thanks

There isn’t any “life” on these kinds of tanks. They basically last forever and a visual inspection would be enough to make sure it’s safe. The pressure isn’t that great inside.
You are right though, it’s best to buy new or get it tested.

actually since he found it in the dump the tank might be past its life and is pretty much a lil bomb now. of course he might have had it tested and all but who knows?and yeah…its not going to be 4x as powerful though. its the same pressure whether its a little tank or a big tank. but youll get a lot more use out of the 5lber and itll be much cheaper to refill too. but if you do like him make sure to spend the money and get the tank tested. or just spend a little money and buy a new aluminum 1.

Hello there! Thanks a lot for this helpful video. By the way, I hear lots of people keep on talking about Xobotano Home Energy (google it), but I’m not sure if it is really good. Have you tried this alternative home energy called Xobotano Home Energy? I have heard several great things about it.
