How do you hook up a poer inverter directly to the car battery and drive at the same time?

Question by Cedric L: How do you hook up a poer inverter directly to the car battery and drive at the same time?
The only way an xbox 360 can be played in a car is if the power inverter is hooked up directly to the battery using the clamps (red and black). As far as I knew, i thought you could only do this by lifting up the hood, but I’m no mechanic. Anyway, me and my brother want to be able to play the 360 in the backseat of the car while my dad drives. Any suggestions?

dude why are you hooking this up directly to the battery?

if you really want to hook this thing up (use a fuse first of all), and just wire it to the accessory wire at the ignition if you really want to use some larger power, but that is un needed really

just go behind a cigarette lighter, solder on the connections and run your inverter wire from there (cut the inverter chord open right, dont just plug it into the plug, run it behind the dash)

What do you think? Answer below!

With as much power as the 360 and a monitor uses, probably a good 250 watts together, you’ll definitely want to run a power cable straight to the battery. If you hook it to another power source like the cigarette lighter, the cigarette lighter’s fuse will just blow & you wouldn’t be able to use it anyway. For something like running a cable to the battery, someone at an auto parts store can usually show you exactly how to run it. You’d need a special battery terminal and some longer cable.
